The Alliance generates rigorous and collective advocacy action on behalf of its civil society whose participants comprise international, national and local based organisations/associations and CBOs. The NECSA-K network enables CBOs and other active organisations to influence national and local policies relating to proper environmental and natural resource management in Kenya. The Alliance has a membership of 100+ CSOs and environmental experts who are advocating for good environmental governance through collective action for social, economic & environmental sustainability in Kenya.
Membership to the NECSA‐K shall be open to any credible Environment civil society organization that demonstrates commitment to the NECSA‐K objectives. Membership comprises all registered civil society organizations with clear environment objectives in Kenya that have hitherto signed membership form and whose membership has not been terminated for any reason as provided below and any other members to be admitted thereafter.
When seeking membership to the organization, a member CSO shall familiarize themselves with the NECSA-K Engagement Guidelines and Principles to understand the guiding principles of the alliance. The prospecting member shall download and sign the Membership Application Form which is submitted to the Alliance through the official email info@necsakenya.org. Additionally, existing members may be required to sign a Membership Reaffirmation Form to validate their membership and will continue to enjoy the voting rights, only subject to any other obligations provided for in these principles and guidelines. New members will be admitted through introduction by an existing member with the approval of the Executive Committee.
The Executive Committee may also admit individual CSOs and/or persons as observers to the NECSA‐K meetings. The observers are CSOs or individuals working in the environment sector. Observers shall be free to contribute opinions/ views with permission of the Chair, but shall not be eligible to vote.
Members of NECSA-K are obligated to pay a onetime registration fee of Ksh. 5000 and an annual membership subscription fee of Ksh. 2500.
All members shall:
Enjoy their institutional autonomy for all their acts and omissions, except when acting for or on behalf of the alliance.
Respect the principles and rules of procedure of the NECSA‐K at all times.
Enjoy same status and privileges with all existing members.
Shall assume to act for or on behalf of the NECSA‐K when issued written authorization from the Executive Committee of NECSA-K
Members that will have endorsed a binding decision and official position of the NECSA‐K will be required to respect and observe the decision and position issued by the NECSA‐K or under the authority of the Executive Committee.

Through its interactive website, NECSA-K is able to share up to date information on important topics that affects its members. Through newsletters, NECSA-K members are able to learn and share best practices in environment and natural resources management.
NECSA-K, members will have access to information on current and emerging issues NECSA-K provides an opportunity for members to co-creation and provide a forum for developing new concepts and ideas in environmental natural resources management. The idea shall foster innovation in key sectors in environment and natural resources management.
