On 26th and 27th of September, NECSA-K members were involved in an exchange field visit in several sites of interest within Trans-Nzoia County. Members visited the Saiwa National Park in Cherangany, the Namanjalala Settlement Scheme and Maridadi River and a WETPA community tree nursery at Maili Saba.
In these areas, members were able to interact with not only the environment and attractions in these spots, but the communities living around the area, county staff and KWS officers based in some of these attractions.
While at the Saiwa National Park, members were able to see the evasive Sitatunga antelope, observed rare birds, monkeys and enjoyed the flora in the park. They also enjoyed the nature trial in the park that has not only a serene environment and clean air but a rich biodiversity as well. Members were able to interact with each other freely and bond during this tour of the park.
